Fiesta Bowl Preview Cowboys Take On Cardinals

The 2012 Fiesta Bowl, can best be described by bookie software agents, as the unofficial National Title Game for NCAA Football. This season’s Fiesta Bowl matchup, features the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Heisman hopeful Brandon Weeden taking on Heisman favorite Andrew Luck and the Stanford Cardinals. Despite these two teams having not faced each other at all this season, many sports betting enthusiasts look at the Fiesta Bowl as a revenge game for the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

In what can best be described as the biggest scandal in the NCAAF this season, the Oklahoma State Cowboys were passed over for a National Title berth, at the hands of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama, a team that not only already lost to LSU, but didn’t even qualify for their own conference’s Championship game, was still able to qualify for a National Title berth. Meanwhile, Oklahoma State, the Big 12 Champion, will be taking on at large bid winner Stanford in this matchup.

On paper, this game features two high powered offenses going toe to toe, as Weeden and Luck have been in the top five all season in passing yards. Both quarterbacks are expected to enter the NFL draft in April, and could potentially be ranked in the top five in that category as well. Luck is the favorite to be drafted first overall, as scouts have called him the most ready quarterback in the last three years.

However, with that being the case, it is important to know, that the Cardinals probably do not have a realistic shot at winning this game. Not only is Oklahoma State a better team, but also they enter the Fiesta Bowl, looking to make a statement to the NCAA. Oklahoma State wants to show everyone, that they can be the National Champion.
